In Maths, we explored a range of topics including shapes, division and data. Pupils worked on problem-solving strategies, interpreting graphs and charts, and applying their division skills to real-life situations. We used hands-on activities and discussion to deepen our understanding and build confidence.
In Gaeilge, we focused on the topic of “Bia”, learning new vocabulary and phrases related to food. We also enjoyed learning about “An Nollaig”, practising new language and discussing Christmas traditions through Irish. Pupils made great efforts to use their Gaeilge during lessons and classroom conversations.
In English, we continued working through our Word wise programme, which focused on phonics, adjectives, nouns, and a range of writing skills. Pupils developed their vocabulary, improved sentence structure and worked on different genres of writing, showing creativity and care in their work. Our DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) has proved to be very useful in inspiring the class to read thorough the day.
Creativity was also on display during Art, where pupils created a variety of winter and Christmas-themed pieces using different media and techniques. The classroom was brightened by colourful and imaginative artwork.
In PE, we completed the athletics and dance strands. Pupils worked on fitness, coordination and teamwork in athletics, while dance lessons encouraged creativity, rhythm and collaboration. Everyone participated enthusiastically and showed great effort throughout.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our SNAs, Marian and Carolynn, for their continued support and care. Their help is greatly appreciated by both pupils and staff.
Well done to all of 4th and 5th Class for their hard work this term. We wish everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
Mr Neville.
