We were delighted to welcome our grandparents to school for Grandparents’ Day. It was such a special occasion, full of smiles, stories, and shared memories.
We loved celebrating Pancake Tuesday, where everyone enjoyed learning about the tradition and, of course sampling pancakes and baked goods in school.
During Seachtain na Gaeilge, we made a big effort to use our Irish every day. We also worked very hard learning the words of Amhrán na bhFiann- an impressive achievement! We also loved the dance Shoe the Donkey!
In English, we have just started reading The Twits, and the class is already thoroughly enjoying the humour and mischievous characters. World Book Day was another highlight, with fantastic costumes on display as we celebrated our love of reading.
In Maths, we were learning the time and practicing our subtraction tables. We are using our Maths Journals to log our learning.
In preparation for First Confession, the children have been learning and reflecting thoughtfully, and we are very proud of them.
We have also been getting active, beginning football training and gymnastics, which the children are really enjoying.
Our creative side has been shining in Art. We designed beautiful daffodils inspired by Daffodil Day and experimented with chalk pastels to create stunning Northern Lights pictures.
Finally, in SESE, we have been exploring the solar system. The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm as they learn about planets, stars, and space.
Thank you to Linda for all she does for us in the classroom and well done to everyone for their hard work and positivity.
