A particular highlight of the year was our school tour to Ballyhass, where the pupils had an amazing day filled with fun, adventure and teamwork. The water activities proved especially popular, with plenty of laughter throughout the day as nearly everyone ended up getting soaked!
Throughout the term, we focused on preparing the pupils as much as possible for the transition to secondary school. We spent time discussing organisation, study habits, friendships and the many exciting opportunities that await them in 1st Year. The class showed great maturity and enthusiasm as they looked ahead to this next stage of their education.
We were also delighted to welcome Elma Walsh to the school, who shared the inspiring story of her son Dónal. Her visit provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and encouraged pupils to consider important values such as gratitude, resilience and faith.
The pupils continued to engage enthusiastically with their learning and completed a number of excellent project-based activities using laptops. They researched, created and presented their work to other classes, developing their confidence, presentation skills and digital literacy.
Sporting success was another feature of the term. The boys were crowned Division 4 Hurling Champions and the school also enjoyed success at the Askeaton Blitz, bringing home two trophies. These achievements were a testament to the pupils' commitment, teamwork and determination.
Overall, it has been a fantastic end to a wonderful year. This group of pupils has brought great energy, humour and positivity to school life and they will be missed greatly by all the staff. We wish each and every one of them the very best as they begin the next exciting chapter of their journey in secondary school.
