Sixth Class Easter Update 2026

It has been a busy, fun-filled, and rewarding term in 6th class! The pupils have continued to impress us with their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication in both learning and extracurricular activities.

We began the term continuing our VEX Robotics project, which has been a fantastic experience for the class. Our hard work paid off when we travelled to Cork for the All-Ireland VEX Robotics Competition, where our pupils were awarded the Sportsmanship Award! This was a proud moment for everyone, and it really highlighted their teamwork, fairness, and positive attitude. Congratulations to all the children for representing the school so wonderfully.

Sport has continued to be a major highlight this term. Our boys and girls had fantastic participation in mini-seven camogie and hurling, showing great skill, energy, and sportsmanship. We also enjoyed an exciting day out at the FAI Soccer Blitz, where the children gave their best on the pitch and had a lot of fun together. In addition to match days, pupils continued to improve their skills in football training sessions, demonstrating great teamwork and perseverance. Our gymnastics sessions were another hit, with the children trying new moves, challenging themselves, and encouraging each other along the way.

Academically and creatively, our pupils have also been busy. During Seachtain na Gaeilge, the class made an excellent effort to speak and use Gaeilge throughout the week. Activities included games, quizzes, and challenges, culminating in a fantastic Gaeilge scavenger hunt, which was a highlight for many. The children showed creativity, enthusiasm, and excellent teamwork in all the activities, and it was wonderful to see their confidence in using the Irish language grow throughout the week.

Overall, this term has been full of achievement, fun, and memorable experiences. Thechildren have continued to show curiosity and effort in class, while also enjoying sporting events, creative projects, and teamwork-based challenges. Weare so proud of the dedication and energy each pupil has brought to all areasof school life.

We would like to wish all our pupils and their families a very happy and relaxing Easter break. We hope it is full of rest, fun, and perhaps a little chocolate! We look forward to seeing everyone back after the holidays, ready for the exciting term ahead.
