Kilcornan National School were delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and great grandparents to our school on Thursday 30th January! Grandparents play such a special role in their grandchildrens' lives and we were delighted to host this special occasion for them. Our guests of honour were treated to a variety of poems, songs, dancing and traditional music from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Our parents' council and kind parental volunteers provided refreshments for everyone in attendance. The grandparents were then welcomed back for a tour of the school and a visit to their grandchild's classroom. Thank you to everyone who provided baked goods, our parents' council and volunteers and the community council for the use of the hall.
Kilcornan National School's annual Christmas Show took place on Tuesday 17th December. We are so proud of all our pupils who performed excellently in both the matinee and evening performances. The pantomime version of Cinderella was a huge success and we are very thankful to Kate Upton for her hard work in preparing the pupils for this. Our Christmas show encompasses the curricular subjects of Drama, Music, Physical Education, Oral language and gives pupils the opportunity to develop life skills such as confidence performing on stage and public speaking. We would like to thank the parents and family who attended, Kilcornan community council for the use of the hall and Mike O'Connell for his help preparing the stage. Thank you to our hardworking staff and our newly elected Parents' Council for providing refreshments and a raffle. Please go to the Photos section to see some beautiful moments of the night captured by Dermot Mullane!
Kilcornan National School are proud to present our annual Christmas show. This year's show will be a pantomime version of 'Cinderella'. We are fortunate to have the very talented producer and choreographer Kate Upton with us again this year. Pupils have been receiving dance, drama and music lessons from Kate every week since October. They have been rehearsing very hard and are looking forward to performing for all of you on Tuesday 17th December. There will be a matinee performance at 10.30 am and an evening performance at 7.00 pm. Tickets are available from the school secretary. Thank you to our new parents' council for organising refrehments for the night. Thank you also to the community council for the use of the hall. Any prizes that can be donated for the raffle would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to a great night's entertainment and seeing you all there!
