Grandparents' Day

I am the face of God’s mercy when …

I am fair and just

I am kind and compassionate

I forgive and reconcile

Catholic Schools Week is an all-Ireland annual event which invites Catholic schools to give expression in a special way to the ethos of Catholic education.  It is a celebration of Catholic schools throughout Ireland, North and South which acknowledges the tremendous contribution that our Catholic primary and post-primary schools make not just to Irish society, but to the mission of the Church. As part of this special week, we were delighted to celebrate Grandparents' Day in Kilcornan National School. This day allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of grandparents in a child's spiritual and moral development. Pupils were given the opportunity to thank their grandparents through prayers, readings, poetry and a variety show including reciting poems, singing, dancing and traditional music. Our parents' council provided refreshments and had the community hall wonderfully decorated for the occasion. Many thanks to them! Please see below a selection of photographs from the day but check out our gallery for much more...
