We did it! After two years of hard work, we have been awarded our eighth green flag! As one of only a handful of schools in the county, we have been awarded our green flag for Global Citizenship and the Marine Environment. Headed by our Green Schools committee, the whole school have been learning about the marine environment and our impact on it. We researched and created projects on the above theme, reduced our use of plastic bottles by encouraging reusable bottles and created and carried out surveys. Ms. Mullane and Mrs. Quinn travelled with committee members to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cork for the award ceremony. A massive thank you to all staff, pupils and the local Tidy Towns Committee for all their support towards this goal. We look forward to raising our new green flag on Thursday the 14th of June and all are welcome to celebrate with us!
