Junior Infants March Update

Welcome back to Term 2 in Junior Infants!

We thoroughly enjoyed performing in our first Christmas Show‘The Wizard of Oz’ and Ms. Balfry was so proud of all of us! We are back at school and working hard in our second term in school. We are practising our blending and are becoming very good at our reading! We are reading every night as part of our homework and can’t wait to start C.A.P.E.R this term. We bought lots of books at the Book Fair and look forward to dressing up as our favourite characters for World Book Day.

We are learning how to form our letters properly and are now doing lots of creative and free writing in school. We loved visualising and drawing pictures of our feelings when we listened to musical pieces such as ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ and ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’.

We took part in our first Grandparents’ Day where we recited a rhyme and sang our favourite song ‘Shotgun’ for all our grandparents.  The sixth class also treated us to our first Pancake Morning in school.

We loved painting spring daffodils in Art and made rainbows. In Maths, we learned about 2 and 3D shapes and had fun constructing our own 3D shapes.

Another highlight of the term was having two new pupils join our class in February and we are doing our best to make them feel welcome.

We look forward to a great term and will be back with more updates soon!!
