G.O.A.L Jersey Day 2023

It was lovely to see the children wearing club, national and international jerseys for G.O.A.L jersey day. Kilcornan National School raised an amazing 489 euro for G.O.A.L! G.O.A.L is an organisation that delivers aid internationally to those in need. Well done to everyone for participating and donating!

Marathon Relay

On Wednesday the 21st June, the pupils of Kilcornan National School collectively ran a marathon of 42,195 meters! Organised by our fantastic Parents' Council, all proceeds raised went towards our school building fund. A huge thank you to the families who supported the pupils and the school by donating to the relay. This was an amazing feat for the school to complete together and a great experience for all involved. Each pupil in the school ran one lap and teachers, parents and staff also got involved! The last lap was run by the youngest and oldest pupils in the school. The school donated medals for all participating pupils and the Parents' Council organised an ice cream truck as a special treat. Thank you to Fitter Younger for hosting the event. We look forward to doing it again next year and trying to beat our time!!

Kelly and O'Donoghue Cups

The Kelly and O’ Donoghue cup tournaments took place in June. Pupils were so excited to see the return of these much anticipated competitions. We are so proud of how all pupils played and encouraged each other. There was a great display of skill, sportsmanship and respect to the referee. Thank you to Johnny Dunne for coaching and supporting the pupils and refereeing the matches. Congratulations to hurling captains Caoimhe and Donnacha and football captains Abbie and Ella on their wins. A very big thank you to the Kelly and O' Donoghue families for attending the matches and presenting the cups.

Active Week

Active week took place in Kilcornan National School from the 19th to the 23rd of June. Pupils took part in parachute games, co-operative games, the Marathon Relay and enjoyed fun Zumba lessons on Friday 23rd June that was jointly funded by the school and the Parents’ Council. Thank you to Ms. Quinn and Ms. Ruddle for co-ordinating this. There are lots of exciting things planned for the new academic year to coincide with our application for the Active Flag and we look forward to these.
