Kelly Cup Final 2017

Jamie Behan and Seán Mendes' winning hurling team!
Kate Quilty's super silver medal team!

The final of the Kelly Cup took place on Tuesday 27th June. Cousins Kate Quilty and Jamie Behan faced off as opposing captains in this match! However, there was no rivalry to be seen as, once again, respect and sportsmanship was displayed throughout the pitch. To hear players praising opposing team members for skill and scores is something that shows the true meaning of sport: building friendships and respect for one another and the game, not the outcome. Well done to everyone involved, from the players to the pupils who encouraged and helped from the sidelines. The game ended in a victory for Seán and Jamie's team who gave a superb demonstration of skill under the great example and leadership shown by Jamie. Seán gave a fantastic performance in goals in both finals! We look forward to seeing all these young stars develop and grow within the gaa and any other chosen sports. A big thank you to Paddy Ivess for refereeing the matches and coaching the boys and girls in gaelic games all year.
