First Class Summer Update

As we come to the end of another fantastic school year, here are some of the highlights from 1st Class this term.

In Maths, we focused on practical, hands-on topics such as weight, time, and capacity. The children really enjoyed exploring these concepts through fun and interactive activities.

In English, we began our next reader, Dance Shoes for GG. The children were captivated by the new adventures of the characters and looked forward to reading each page and the activities that followed.

In Gaeilge, our interactive topics—siopadóireacht (shopping) and teilifís (television)—were a big hit with the class. The children enjoyed engaging with the language through games and conversations.

As part of our SESE (Small World) programme, we explored exciting topics such as Irish birds, Irish wildflowers, and the season of summer. The students showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout.

We also had some very special events this term. Our school tour in June took us to the University of Limerick for the Adventure World Camp—a day filled with obstacle courses, inflatables, and energetic games that the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Another standout day was our Marathon Relay, where every child took part and gave it their all. It was wonderful to see such great teamwork, determination, and school spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for your continued support throughout the year. I want wish you all a safe, happy, and relaxing summer!
