1916 Flag Ceremony

On Tuesday 15th March, Kilcornan National School commemorated the 1916 Rising with a ceremony on the school grounds. Former Deputy Principal, 'Master' Jim Mc Grath,  raised the flag. The ceremony included beautiful music and singing from the older classes accompanied by Mrs. Wixted. Pupil Ciaran Bourke read the proclamation and pupils from 2nd to 6th provided a history of the Rising. We would like to thank Master Mc Grath for organising the flag pole for us and to the many parents who attended. A special thank you to our Parents' Council for providing refreshments afterwards.
