Christmas Review!

First Class
Second Class

It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas and we have a whole term down! The girls and boys in 1st and 2nd class have settled in well to their new classroom and are working hard. It has been an eventful term looking back and the children have been busy!

The pupils are enjoying some of the new initiatives we have put in place this year. We have been doing great with our Literacy station teaching staying on task and learning lots through a variety of different activities. We are also working well in our Numeracy, where team teaching is taking place and is proving to be very successful.

The children also participated in other activities including Zumba and hurling skills and they acted very willingly for ‘Beat The Teachers’ in a soccer match!

We have had a visitor in to speak to the class.  Seán from ‘An Tasice’ gave a presentation on Tuesday 20th September. The pupils were fascinated with the experiments Seán carried out and a lot of learning took place.  We also had Tara, from the GOAL organization visiting the class in October. Our Math’s Week was held in October too and we had lots of fun completing math’s trails, quizzes etc…with lots of competition’s/raffles won by the children.

We had a fantastic Halloween, enjoying our dress-up day and completing lots of different spooky artwork.

We have been doing lots of preparation for our First Holy Communion by starting our masses for the ‘In Memory Of Me Programme’.

Our Christmas Play ‘Christmas With The Aliens’ proved to be a huge success. The children put a lot of work in and they thoroughly enjoyed performing to a live audience! We have just enjoyed a trip to U.L. where the children watched their Christmas Panto ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

1st and 2nd class would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Slán agaibh!
