5th and 6th Class Easter Update

Happy Easter everyone!

We have had a busy and fun term in fifth and Sixth class. Sixth class took part in the VEX Regional Robotics competition in Dell on the 24th January. They were so prepared and our drivers were amazing on the day. They scooped the design award and the team challenge award. This gained us a place into the National competition in MTU which took place on the 28th February. Here, we came second in the Team Challenge award. This was an outstanding achievement for Sixth class. They worked so well together as a team. Thank you to Ian O’Gorman and Jason O’ Shaughnessy for all their guidance, encouragement and support. It is greatly appreciated.

On the 28th January we attended Peace Proms in UL. This was a unique opportunity to perform with a full orchestra. Music Generation was brilliant this term. We learned how to play the ukulele and performed several songs together. Thanks to Aoife and Norah for all their teaching and patience.

Sixth Class hosted the annual pop up café on Pancake Tuesday. This was a great day and everyone enjoyed tasty pancakes and baked goods. Well done Sixth!

We took part in the FAI 5 a side soccer blitz in Corbally. Even though the weather was not good we had a great day out and are got through to the next round.

In Geography, we studied the countries Japan and Mexico. We learned lots of interesting facts about their cultures and traditions.

We celebrated Seachtain Na Gaeilge with a whole school performance of the Haka and Shoe the Donkey. Bhí an-spórt againn!

Thank you to Linda who helps us every day in our classroom.
