Sixth Class Easter Update

Hello from everyone in Rang a Sé! We have had a brilliant and busy term.

In PE, we explored the Dance and learned the Haka, this is a ceremonial dance in Maori culture. We had lots of fun learning it. We also did relay races and rounders

On one of the cold Friday mornings in January we warmed up with a cup of tea and toast. We enjoyed chatting and catching up with each other. There were lots of debates about Barrys or Lyons!

We were so glad to get back to normal and host Pancake Tuesday for the rest of the school. We divided up into teams and each took responsibility for a station. It was a super fun day.

After a successful Pancake Tuesday, we used more of our cooking skills. We used the equipment that was kindly gifted by Green-schools and An Taisce. We cooked up a storm in our classroom! We made egg muffins, garlic bread, chard salad and mini pizzas.

In Art, we took inspiration from Jackson Pollock and recreated our own pieces. This was so much fun and messy! We also made clay pots, we painted them and will varnish after the Easter holidays.

We explored and learned the poem Midterm Break by Seamus Heaney. We enjoyed this poem and many of our parents remembered learning it also. We worked on Explanation writing and using the school laptops, we typed them out. Our typing skills are improving week by week. We have enjoyed literacy stations with the help of Ms. Quinn.

We are so lucky and delighted to have Johnny Dunne back doing football and hurling every Friday with us. It is so much fun and we are all improving in skill. Thanks Johnny!

On the 24of March, we had an inspiring retreat with Fr Tim Wrenn and El. We did someteam building activities, chatted about ourselves and took time to reflect andpray.

We took to the N69 for the Team Limerick Clean Up. We worked together as a team and picked up lots of rubbish along the road.

We are looking forward to our next and last term in Sixth class.

Beannachtaí na Cásca oraibh! Stay tuned for more updates.
