3rd and 4th Class: June Update

The countdown is on for summer holidays!! It has been a busy term in 3rd and 4th class and the boys and girls have all worked really hard throughout the year. We introduced PAT stations and Mata sa Rang activities this year which the pupils thoroughly enjoyed. We engaged in a number of STEM challenges during the course of the year and the pupils were challenged to work in groups to complete the task at hand. There were some fantastic projects completed on a whole range of topics from Lego to Barak Obama and everyone enjoyed presenting their project to the class. Tensions were high on numerous occasions throughout the year with our oral Spelling and Tables games (‘SPARKLE’ and ‘King of the Tables’) but it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed the bit of competition. We have had so many highlights from this year including Peace Proms, a visit from the Mayor of Limerick, Skipping workshop with Lee, visits from Munster players Duncan Casey and Séan McCarthy and our recent School Tour to UL Sports Arena to name but a few. The pupils were also so lucky to learn first-hand about the work of firemen when Foynes Fire Brigade came to visit this term. Now it’s time to wrap up the year with O’ Donoghue and Kelly Cup matches and enjoy our last few days in school before the holidays. Don’t forget check out pictures of our work and activities in the Photos section.
